Job Search Work Teams

Based on a method scientifically proven to speed the search, Job Search Work Teams are ongoing groups of 6 to 12 people who meet weekly to work on their job searches together.  Often imitated, these are the original job-hunting accountability groups.

Team Up! Find a Better Job Faster with a Job Search Work Team explains exactly how to create, use and lead them. That book also provides the studies and other evidence that team members find job faster than non-members.

Assistant to the Village Manager / Deputy Village Clerk

The Village of Lake Zurich is seeking a self-motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as the Assistant to the Village Manager. The Assistant to the Village Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Village Manager in the execution of day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives. 

This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional capable of handling a diverse range of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Assist the Village Manager with administrative tasks, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence.
  • Policy and Project Research: Conduct research on various policies, projects, and initiatives as assigned by the Village Manager. Provide comprehensive reports and recommendations based on the research findings.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with different Village departments to ensure smooth communication, efficient workflow, and timely completion of projects.
  • Meeting Support: Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings, take minutes, and assist in follow-up actions to ensure decisions are properly documented and implemented.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the Village in community outreach initiatives, and serve as FOIA and OMA officer.
  • Budget Assistance: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the Village's budget, including gathering data, tracking expenses, and contributing to budgetary recommendations.
  • Special Projects: Undertake special projects as directed by the Village Manager, which may involve research, analysis, and coordination with various stakeholders.
